Who’s the mom?

Yesterday was at a friend’s place so got home a little late… Hrit Naisha were in bed with Sunil. When I went to them, Naisha says… Mama aap thora late aye… achchha nahin laga mujhe’ Wonder if she’ll take the same line from me when she starts getting home late….

Girls and boys – Hrit

Hrit has come to a great realisation… says he ‘Mama boys boys friends hote hain aur girls girls’ Am not sure I like the this idealogy. Wonder how long it will last.

Dal roti boy: Hrit

At a birthday party Hrit and Naisha were served pizzas and Hrit says ‘Mama yeh wala paratha achchha nahin hai’. Then a sip of Pepsi makes him shiver all over and he promptly hands over the glass to me with a dirty face and a ‘not nice’.

Hmmmm… serious action needed. Am starting the kids on a diet of junk food and soda drinks!!

H says…

The other day H spotted SRK’s picture in the paper and I was very glad he recognised him. So just to add to his info I said ‘H, SRK is a big favourite with mama’ so Hrit promptly asks, “Toh yeh ghar kyon nahin aate?” Wish I knew the answer to that one!

Language Lafda – Naisha

Okay this Hindi English thing is terribly confusing… The other day mama told me to keep quiet and go to sleep but I wanted to sing a rhyme with her so I said ‘Naisha ko singna hai’ and sent mama into fits of laughter. Then there was the time when I said ‘Mujhe sitna hai’. I mean how is one supposed to figure out which is a hindi word and which is an English one? Words should come with labels. Mama keeps talking half in Hindi and half in English… how am I supposed to figure out which is which?????
