I have one simple recipe that goes for all my soups… boil, blend, add salt, pepper, cumin powder, season with butter and cumin seeds and done. Any inputs to this basic recipe will be very welcome. The Husband would sure be grateful. Yesterday it was carrots and tomatoes, which the kids loved but The Husband found ‘too sweet’. Today I tried tomatoes with a bit of beetroot. Doesn’t it look great? The Husband liked it but the kids didn’t. Sigh.. It’s so difficult to please everyone.
Any ideas on other vegetable combinations I could try?

For the record: Current weight as on 2.2.12 — 71.1kgs There I’ve let out the biggest secret of my life. Shocked you, did I? Well let me tell you it’s the bones. When I’m 60 kgs I’m like thin. So 65 would be super. For this month I’m looking forward to entering the 60s.
@MM: Yay!

Hey Vini great to meet a fellow fat fighter *shakes hands*. The bean-veggie combination sounds good. Will give it a shot. Does the recipe remain the same.. boil, blend etc..? Isn't sweet potato fattening?
@MM.. Hey I didn't think such a basic recipe would qulaify. Thanks for the wishes.
Aparna.. I'm also a newbie at this. Do share your chicken soup recipe. I can make it for The Husband at least.
All the best for hitting whatever weight you feel great at :).
I'm terrible at soups – only can make a plain tomato and a chicken occasionally, so will look forward to dropping by later and seeing other's interesting soup recipes ;).
you should have sent that for a yummy tummy wednesday.. 🙂
Hugs.. I know how hard you are working for it, so wishing u the fittest 65 u have ever been 🙂
I am on the fight fat/get fit phase too – soups one of my fav is a mexican chili with beans and veggies
– kidney beans
– carrots
– celery
– tomatoes
– onions
– capsicum
– garlic
seasoned with cumin and chilli powder. I add canned chipotle in adobe sauce if I can find it for the perfect smoky kick.
Another soup I usually make is white beans + spinach or kale or some kind of greens + sweet potato
Good luck with the battle against the bulge and you can do it!
