The real stuff!

Tall, dark and handsome,
rich and maybe famous too..
that’s all what I had
dreamt of before I met you.
That dream you broke, you
sure did,
A hundred new ones you
gave me instead.
Tall, dark and handsome is only
fluff
Fame and fortune are just
not enough,
This is IT – the real
stuff.

Day 5 of the Marathon Bloggers’ 55er week and I’m still here. Today’s prompt is ‘Dreams’.

The weighing machine

I watched her watching me for months. But I stood unmoving, stoic,
pretending disinterest. She reciprocated, pretending disinterest in my
disinterest.
She came, each day. Each day we played out this charade.
I didn’t give up. She didn’t either.
Finally…… she wore me out. I gave in. I moved.

Triumphant, she announced, “I’ve lost weight!”

Day 4 at Marathon Bloggers’ 55er week. And today’s prompt – Weighing Machine. Whew!!

A date

A date after ages! I was
excited. We’d hardly gone out since the kids came along – my husband and I! The kids
were tucked in bed and the neighbour was babysitting.
I glanced at the clock, then brushed my hair hurriedly one last time.
Just when I was leaving..
Ma.. Potty! Called out my little
one!
This post is part of a week of 55ers with Marathon Bloggers. Today’s prompt is ‘Just when I was leaving’.

Love

Anger bubbled up.. pure
and undiluted propelling her across the road after him. She shook him hard, till the teeth rattled in his head.
“Can’t you look where you are going?” she bellowed. “Have you any
idea what could have happened?”
And then she hugged her
son with a last glance at the disappearing car.

Written for Marathon Bloggers. We’re doing a week of 55ers. Today’s prompt was ‘love’.

Brothers and sisters

She crept silently, holding her breath. She couldn’t wait to see his face when she jumped at him from behind the door. Serve him right for tattling to mum! She’d laugh at him for days and call him a scaredy cat.

Little did she know that he was on the other side waiting for her!
