Once upon a time life was:
A vibrant work environment : People to meet, interviews to slot, night shifts to get through, copies to edit, pages to be made, designers-ad guys-systems guys to bicker with
A bunch of friends: first day first shows, long hours at the gym, shopping in the old city, countless evenings at the coffee house
The Husband and I: Long conversations, Late night television, Endless games of scrabble, dinners with friends.
And then..
A decision.
To step out.
A new life for us
with two new lives.
A whole new world.

Wow!!! This makes so much sense! And it is comprehended so beautifully, Tulika!
More power to you 🙂
Cheers
Thank you Geetika.
That 100 word drabble gave me more insight into you and your story ( if its reality inspired that is ) than an essay !!
I think very few things change life irreversibly as having kinds and one can only look back at one's life in amazement as we make that transition .. But it also makes us a much more mature person , so I guess its worthwhile for people who quit being who they were when they choose to be parents . but then again there 's no way of knowing otherwise 🙂
Thanks Chandni for dropping by. You're right – when we decide to have children life changes drastically. I enjoyed the before-kids phase too and now this is just as good though in a very different way.
Oh yes, being parents certainly makes us step out of our comfort zone. I must tell you once again that you are doing great there!!
It's the biggest leap I've ever taken. As always thanks for the reassurance. I need o keep hearing it :-). Thanks Shilpa.
That's sweet and lovely one, Tulika.
Thanks Parul :-). I miss writing drabbles sometimes.
Parenthood changes everything and yet we wouldn't change it for anything. Very nicely written.
Absolutely right Suzy.
Well said! Becoming a parent transforms our lives in a way nothing else does.
Good old days.. Sigh!
Ha ha yes.. I miss all of that sometimes.
How life changes by the addition of a little soul 🙂 Kinda scary and exciting all at the same time 🙂
You covered everything is such few words! Loved reading this. Children sure changed our world.
Thank you Indy. They sure do.
I wonder how life changes with years and we realize only when we look back!
We turn into different people and don;t even realise it.
Becoming a parent changes everything. Though the good news is as years fly past we learn to recreate the magic of our younger years with the little ones in tow.
Beautifully put, Tulika <3
That's true. And it's a lot of fun though in a whole different way.
