Today’s prompt – ‘Fly’
Going literally with ‘flying’, here’s my entry.
That’s as close as I’ve ever come to flying. We were on a family vacation to Dapoli – 13 of us. We’d hired this huge bus so we could all travel together. I remember thinking what an unlucky number we were. However it turned out to be a fantastic holiday and remains a benchmark for all of us. Each time we plan a holiday it’s like, “As good as Dapoli” or “Dalpoli was more fun”.
I’m not sure what made me let myself get strapped to that contraption. I’m absolutely not an adventurous soul — the typically safe and conservative Capricorn. That day I agreed, I still wonder why. The trip into the clouds lasted barely minutes and everyone else came down complaining how ‘tame’ it was. My 7-year old nephew was gravely upset because he wasn’t allowed to go. Anyhow, I rose in my estimation that day and thought no end of myself for having dared to do it.
So there.. that’s the story for that picture. Aren’t those rippled clouds beautiful?

I have done that too!! Screaming a lot in the beginning… but then -. what a wonderful feeling it was!! Thanks for reminding me..:-) I love the picture!

You are one brave lady! I had a chance to do it but I chickened out. The bravest thing I did was watch my younger brother at a boxing tournament and with every blow to his face, I hurt with him.

I might do the hot air balloon.. but not sure about this! 😀 does look a bit scary!
Abseiling and the treetop elements.with some teenagers….that one was tough. And white water rafting.
White water rafting would be truly scary. This wasn't in the sea.. just on the beach so I was good.
Wow! How cool is that!! We usually share in our workshops, "When was the last time you did something for the first time?" And you did it!! I can imagine the exhilaration and the feeling of achievement!! 🙂
Absolutely.. I couldn't believe I was still alive. Everyone else thought I was being melodramatic.

Its a lovely picture…I have never done anything as adventurous as this..but maybe some day!

Love the passion behind the picture and your determination to do what you wanted to do. Sadly I'm not the adventurous type and the most adventurous I've ever done is walk along a cliff line where the drop was 4000 feet. No harness, or safety.
Thanks Sid but now I feel a bit of a hypocrite.. I just got caught in the moment. Had I thought about it I would never have done it :-D. Wow.. 4000 feet!! Impressive.
I did this in Goa! It sounds scary but is the most fun once your foot leaves the ground! Fun.
